Calcium Chloride Route
Calcium Chloride Route Process :
This process produces HCL Gas continuously by azeotropic distillation of 30% HCl Solution along with a co-current stream of hot Calcium Chloride solution. The calcium chloride breaks the azeotrope formed between HCl and water and as a result all the HCl available in the solu. is released as gas. The bottom product from column is diluted Calcium Chloride solu. with some HCL content. The Calcium Chloride solu. is re-concentrated in the evaporator and recycled to the distillation column. The vapor from evaporation process consists of water and 1 to 2 % (max.) of HCl by weight. This vapor is condensed prior to discharge after pH adjustment. The system, also, is based on Continuous Duty Design.
The System Turn Down Ratio is very high.
All wetted parts are fabricated from corrosion resistant Borosilicate Glass and PTFE.
