Sulphuric Acid Route
This plant is designed to produce dry HCl-Gas by the process of dehydration of 30% HCL Solution with concentrated Sulfuric Acid. SA is fed from the top of the packed column as a co-current feed to 30% HCl Solution which is fed from the middle of the column. HCl Gas is generated when the two acids come in contact in the bottom portion and still of the column while the top portion of the col. acts as a dehydration zone for the product HCl Gas. 100 % moisture free gas is obtained at top by this process. The bottom product from this plant is spent SA(70%) solution with some percentage of HCL. This again has to be cooled and stored for final treatment & disposal. This System is based on Continuous Duty Design.
The System Turn Down Ratio is very high.
All wetted parts are fabricated from corrosion resistant Borosilicate Glass and PTFE.
